Keynote Conversation

Phil Lord and Christopher Miller take us behind the scenes on “Project Hail Mary,” sharing why the blockbuster smash was also the hardest film of their career. Lord and Miller have become one of the most successful and inventive partnerships working in film and TV, overseeing huge franchises like “21 Jump Street,” “Lego,” and “Spider-Verse.” But it was their return to the director’s chair for the first time in a decade to adapt Andy Weir’s best-selling novel that required them to draw upon all of the skills they’ve honed over their careers to create one of the year’s most memorable movies.
